Hospitalist Care

If you are admitted as a patient to Manchester Memorial Hospital or Rockville General Hospital, you may receive care from a dedicated ECHN hospitalist physician who will oversee your stay.

Hospitalist Care Team

ECHN’s hospitalist team is comprised of over 30 board-certified physicians and Allied Health Professionals with extensive training in managing complex medical conditions. All of our hospitalists are board-certified physicians who specialize in providing exceptional medical care while keeping in touch with your doctor throughout your hospital stay. They are also available to answer your questions or address your concerns from the time you are admitted until you are discharged and go home.

Hospitalists act as care coordinators, providing care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They work closely with nurses, your primary care physician and your family to provide a continuum of care and communication. Upon discharge, hospitalists will provide your doctor with a detailed discharge report that includes post-hospitalization care instructions.

If you do not have a primary care provider, ECHN can refer you to one in your community for any follow-up care that might be needed.

A Healthy Partnership: Sound Physicians

ECHN partners with Sound Physicians for hospitalist care services at both Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital. The Hospitalists at Sound Physicians provide hospital medicine, critical care, transitional care and advisory services.
