Family Birthing Center Tours
The best way to determine if ECHN’s Family Birthing Center is right for you and your family is to come visit us during one of our scheduled tours. Expectant parents, family members and friends wanting more information about our maternity services are welcome to request a tour.
The tour allows you to see most areas of the Family Birthing Center. Any questions you have will be answered by an expert in maternity care.

Family Birthing Center Community
Join our Family Birthing Center Facebook Group, designed to be a landing spot for those interested and passionate about pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, parenting and nutrition. This public group allows alike-minded individuals to share information, ask questions, and connect.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Through a close partnership with the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center (CCMC), the Family Birthing Center Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides high-quality neonatal care for newborns requiring intensive and immediate medical attention.
The goal of our NICU is to address every medical need your child encounters without having to uproot your family and transfer to a different facility. Comprehensive and experienced, the neonatal care team consists of:
- Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Neonatologists
- Lactation Consultants
- Neonatal Nurses
- Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
- Pediatricians
- Physical Therapists
- Physician’s Assistants
- Respiratory Therapists
- Social Workers
Support and Educational Resources
With great joy comes great responsibility, and to promote healthier neonatal and postnatal care, we provide a wide range of support services for parents including resources to help you with delivery, breastfeeding, fitness programs and much more.
The Maternity Care and Family Planning Center
The Maternity Care and Family Planning Center (MCFPC) is a mainstay at Rockville General Hospital, and provides prenatal and postpartum care for women who are uninsured and under-insured. Women who receive prenatal care through the Center have access to ultrasounds and laboratory services, as well as gynecological services including: physical examinations, sexually transmitted infection testing, pregnancy testing, disease prevention, health promotion and maintenance and family planning services.
