Both our adolescent and adult inpatient behavioral health units are co-ed, and provide a secure and safe environment our patients. Units inlcude:
- An Adolescent Unit for those between the ages of 12 – 18 years old and must be enrolled in school if 18 years old. This 6-bed unit is located at Manchester Memorial Hospital for those suffering from any mental health diagnosis from depression to schizophrenia.
- A Young Adult Unit at Rockville General Hospital. This is a 10-bed unit for individuals between the ages of 18 – 28 years old who have a psychiatric diagnosis.
- An Adult Unit for those 18 years old and up. This 24-bed unit is located at Rockville General Hospital for those suffering from any mental health diagnosis from depression to schizophrenia.
On site, our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists and psychiatric nurses care for patients on a continuous 24/7 basis, and work closely with each other to restore patients to the highest level of functioning as quickly as possible, so that they can continue to receive treatment in a less restrictive environment.
All the behavioral health units at ECHN provide medication management, crisis intervention, group therapy, 1:1 supportive counseling, collaboration with outside treatment providers, and follow up disposition planning to a lower level of care.
